Eye shadow for white skin

Charlotte Tilbury says, "Rich purples look incredible on green eyes and make them sparkle with life. Blue-eyed girls suit warm shades of brown and gold, contrary to popular belief, which are perfect for everyday and can be built up for a desk to disco glamorous look." Hazel eye colours also work well with nudes, beiges and soft plums, we love using a plum mascara to accentuate hazel and green eye colours.

Myface eye shadow in Purple Haze £9.78, boots.com and the eyetouch blingtone in Morocco £9.78. Benefit Bad Gal in plum £14.50 benefitcosmetics.co.uk

Primers for white skin

White, English rose complexions can often suffer from excess redness and this primer is the perfect product to tone that down, opt for the green colour to do just that - John Gustafson says it's one of his must-haves. It's wearable with or without foundation and will leave the skin glowing.

Foundation for pale white skin

If you have very fair skin, redness or an uneven skin tone then you will want a foundation that gives you good coverage and lasts well. This lightweight foundation is a favourite among those with fair skin as it's been designed with pale skin in mind. It will cover skin imperfections, redness and is thankfully still there at the end of the day.

Blusher for white skin

Pale skins are best suited to light pinks and, believe it or not, lilac based blushers. These delicate cool colours will give cheeks a pretty glow without accentuating red tones that might already be in the skin. This duo from New York make-up artist Eddie Funkhouser has both and is easily blendable. We also love Bobbi Brown's eye shadow in baby pink which is a really delicate soft pink to add just a hint of colour to cheeks.

Lipsticks for white skin

Pale skins can suit lots of lipstick shades but we would tend to lean towards corals, reds and nudes. Bright red lipsticks look fabulous if you get the right shade, we love this popular MAC colour, but not everyone's pale skin can work with such a bright colour. If red isn't for you then try a more natural shade, Chase Aston international make-up artist for The Body Shop told us that nudes hues such as warm caramels, coffees, and corals always work well for a sophisticated look on pale skins.
