How to look like Megan Fox

by Louise O'Connell
megan fox makeup how to advert for giorgio armani cosmetics

To be honest I've never really been bothered about Megan Fox, the whole Transformers thing totally passed me by and sadly, I am not an Armani underwear sort of girl (Megan was the 'body' of Armani underwear for a while) but when I saw this Giorgio Armani cosmetics campaign, I was left literally speechless and suddenly in love with Megan Fox.

Managing to look modern and retro at the same time, I was dumbfounded by how perfect Miss Fox looked, and that the make-up look she has is still attainable. Her amazing bone structure, beautiful eyes and full lips are perfect, but the sum of the look is classic and works on anyone. Any woman will look great with porcelain skin, smoky eyes and rich red lips.

What's clever about this campaign is that it does exactly what make-up always does: promises us a fantasy and gives us the tools to create our reality from that fantasy.

So, if you want to try this look yourself, here are a few tips and essential products:
Skin is the thing. Any dry patches will show up so make sure your complexion is moisturised and well prepped - a good primer is essential for this look. So, if you want to try this look yourself, here are a few tips and essential prodcuts:

Skin is the thing. Any dry patches will show up so make sure your complexion is moisturised and well prepped - a good primer is essential for this look. We love: MAC Prep + Prime Skin Brightening Serum, £28.

Cover any blemishes, blotches and dark patches with a concealer. A yellow-based concealer is good for all skin tones. Try Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit, £23.50, and it comes in loads of shades for all skin colours.

Apply foundation or tinted moisturiser, whichever you prefer but tinted moisturiser tends to give a dewy skin effect. Use a large foundation brush as it makes base very easy to blend and work in to the skin. For a totally flawless look - and skin just like Megan - try Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, £33. Believe us, you won't regret it, this is one of the best foundations we've ever used.

Strong brows are crucial to this look but many of us have over-plucked. Fill in and shape with Too Faced Brow Envy kit, £28.50 - this is a really thorough brow kit, which includes four colours to shade and shape, tweezers, brushes, stencils and instructions - you can't go wrong.

Eyes are clearly a big focus here and false lashes really max the look, but not all of us feel comfortable with falsies, so instead use a a good lengthening and thickening mascara, such as Benefit They're Real Mascara, £18.50.

Smoky eyes work on everyone but you need to play around with what intensity is best for you; some women can wear really heavy smoky eyes; others can only do a light smoky eye. In the advert Megan Fox wore Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill eye shadow in 17, 18 and 19, £24.50 each.

Those lips! Even if you have thin lips you can do the claret-coloured lip but you will need a lip liner to ensure your shape is perfect and you may want to go for a shade or two lighter which will give the illusion of fuller lips.

Finally, a mere touch of blusher is all you need. Go for a warm coral just to add a little colour and to prevent the look from being Morticia rather than Megan.
