Could you tell an eyeliner virgin like me how to line my eyes so they appear bigger?
Best bet is to keep it soft and to a minimum. If you line heavily or all the way around you will close the eye in and make them look exactly opposite to what you want. Stick to about half of the lower lid and, if you really feel you need to, half of the upper. Blend. Blend. Blend. Smudgy will keep it from looking too hard and delineated.
Black is most likely a no-no. Mid-grey, taupe brown, or a soft sludgy version of your eye colour will be the most kind. Once you have mastered the basics, you can try to extend the outside with your blending, but you also run the risk of looking like you are trying too hard. Stick with simple and build as your skill increases.
I am 34 and do not have any signs of any bags or wrinkles under the eyes (just yet!) but I want to find the best product on the market to prevent these.
'Best' is so subjective but the way I am going to answer this is by telling you what I would buy myself, if faced with what your situation at face value. I would get Strixaderm S.O.S. Eye, £59.00 which is trialed by the American Medical Association. I love that it can be used in the entire eye area. Puffiness is reduced by a minimum 40% in four weeks, shadowing by 60-80%, with an immediate five minute tightening effect. All three boxes firmly ticked.
I was just wondering what you opinion of Bio Oil is? Is it the miracle it says or just another flash in the pan?
Funny you should ask this question because I just recently bought a bottle! My boys have eczema and I there on the shelf at my local chemist was Bio Oil at half price. I figured they could use it in the bath, or try it on their skin as a few weeks ago I had a client in who used only that for the last 5 years and had the softest skin imaginable. I figured didn't have much to lose and all three of us loved it! Really. Don't know if it will do everything it purports to do in the long-term, but it is completely non-oily, non-stinky, and does just about everything.
It was sitting on my table when one of my testers was around the other day and he asked me if it might be any good for his wife who has dry skin. I said it was worth a go. Two days later they were both raving about it. He told a mate at the gym who has black skin that is extremely dry and he uses pure cocoa butter (p-euw!) who went and picked one up. This guy thinks it is a miracle in a bottle and has every single member of his family using it. All because my local had it half price and I decided to give it a go! That means that one bottle has turned in one week into 8 bottles. Not a bad turn around.
So I wound say - give it a go. Not much to lose and you can use it for anything from dryness, to face moisture, elbows and knees, scar reduction, stretch marks, etc. Miracle? Dunno. Nice oil to have around the house? Most definitely. Best, John
