This year’s Golden Globes seemed to be all about flawless natural skin, a touch of shimmer to eyes, barely there lipstick and loosely tied back hair. Teamed with stunning designer gowns and priceless diamonds it was a rather glamorous affair. However, this wouldn\'t be one of Hollywood\'s biggest events without those that broke the rules with long wavy locks and bright red lipstick. Read on to see our favourite hair and beauty looks on the red carpet...

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie,make-up,celebrity hair Angelina Jolie A sparkling Versace gown with long, wavy, glossy hair plus natural skin and peachy lips. It was a soft, rather glamorous look for this superstar who, of course, had hunky man Brad Pitt on her arm for good measure. Lucky lady...

Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes,make-up,celebrity hair Eva Mendes Wow, what a dress (Dior, of course!). Eva has gone for a full-on gown, eye-catching necklace and understated make-up: bronzed, flawless skin, zero eye shadow and lashings of mascara and nude lipstick. What\'s more, the messy side sweeping up-do adds a playful element to this chic look.

Kate Winslet

Double award winner Kate looks simply stunning and every inch the English rose. We love her sexy swept-to-one-side up-do, her pretty pink blusher and of course the trademark red lips. It\'s a winning look for the lady of the moment.

Renée Zellweger

Renee Zellweger,make-up,celebrity hair Renée Zellweger Renée certainly made some red carpet waves with this new hairdo. Courtesy of hair stylist Paul Labrecque, Renée has gone blonder with some serious curls. Opting for something a little different from the traditional up-dos and although perhaps looking slightly wild at first glance, we still think she pulls it off. Matching natural make-up and an unusual black two piece outfit, it ticks every red carpet box!

Penelope Cruz

Penelope Cruz,make-up,celebrity hair Penelope Cruz Looking stunning in a strapless gown, we were not surprised to see Ms Cruz sporting her trademark smoky dark eyes, bronzed cheeks and pale lip gloss. It\'s safe but it works.

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum,make-up,celebrity hair Heidi Klum handbag.com has fallen in love Heidi\'s dress, which she teams with simple swept back hair, dewy skin, elegant arching eyebrows and some serious red lipstick. It gets our seal of approval, that\'s for sure...

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock,make-up,celebrity hair Sandra Bullock Presenter of the night Sandra didn\'t let the side down with her groomed red carpet style. Wavy, tonged hair framed her face, rosy cheeks and pretty pink lips gave her a flush of colour against her pale dress. It was grown-up glamour at its best.

Debra Messing

make-up,debra messing, celebrity hair Debra Messing Finally, someone with smouldering eyes! Yes, Debra looked fantastic with her simple swept back ponytail, natural glossy lips and midnight blue Vera Wang gown. Her eyes do all the talking and make a great red carpet statement.

Christina Applegate

make-up,celebrity hair,Christina Applegate Christina Applegate Award nominee Christina lit up the red carpet with her stunning yellow Roberto Cavalli gown, glamorous side sweeping up-do, black eyeliner and some stunning red lipstick. Even though she wasn\'t a winner on the night, she was in our style stakes.

Amy Adams

make-up,amy adams, celebrity hair Amy Adams Nominee Amy pulled off a look of contrasts. In a stunning glitzy Oscar De La Renta gown we were sorry to see that her hair and make-up looked a little frazzled. Amy\'s slightly too messy up do and natural make-up didn\'t quite match the splendour of her gown but we did love the way her natural pale skin complemented her pink lipstick.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway,make-up,celebrity hair Anne Hathaway With her trade mark flawless pale skin, strong arched eyebrows, soft red lips and understated up-do, Anne made for a truly elegant Golden Globe nominee.

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria,make-up,celebrity hair Eva Longoria Eva has gone for a wow factor red dress and teamed it with this season\'s understated make-up. Her skin is naturally flawless, the hair tied back in a simply low bun and her eyes covered in a hint of brown shimmer. We love the nude lips too.

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore,make-up,celebrity hair Drew Barrymore Drew has mixed red carpet glamour with a touch of rock chick. Big hair, dark roots and smouldering eyes make her stand out from the traditional Hollywood crowd. Does it suit our girl next door, Drew? You decide...

Beyoncé Knowles

Beyonce Knowles,make-up,celebrity hair Beyonce Knowles She never seems to get it wrong lately and here she is pulling of another glamorous red carpet appearance. Immaculate skin, a touch of shimmer to her eyelids, understated lipstick and simple pulled back hairdo. It\'s golden, we say...

Freida Pinto

beauty,make-up,celebrity hair Freida Pinto Slumdog Millionaire cleaned up at this year\'s Golden Globes and star Freida added a touch of girly glamour to the famous red carpet. Looking understated chic with tousled hair, flawless skin and glossy lips, she looked just peachy.

Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz,make-up,celebrity hair Cameron Diaz Mixing a pink Chanel dress with bright, stand-out-in-a-crowd pink lips, natural skin, simple black eyeliner and wavy blonde locks, it’s definitely Cameron Diaz and it definitely works.

Demi Moore

make-up,demi moore, celebrity hair Demi Moore Loose wavy black hair, bronzed matte skin and sexy Dior dress – this look knocked years of Demi\'s 40-plus age tag and was a beautiful red carpet winner.

Rumer Willis

make-up,rumer willis, celebrity hair Rumer Willis With her auburn hair twisted loosely back, her pale skin, long luscious lashes and stunning purple gown it was a fantastic red carpet appearance for the daughter of Hollywood royalty, Demi Moore and Bruce Willis. Her slightly quirky style and mysterious air gave her even more of an LA edge – she is one to be watched.
