Salon leg wax

Not all leg waxes involve tears and a calming talk with a BFF before you enter the salon. A good salon will ensure that the treatment is as painless as possible and efficient too. Often personal recommendation is a good way of ensuring the salon is right for you. Here are a few tips to bear in mind before you book:

Never go for a wax just before or during your period because women’s pain threshold is always lower then.
Exfoliate with a dry body brush or body scrub beforehand.
If you’re really sensitive to pain take a painkiller 20 to 30 minutes before your treatment.
It’s common sense, but don’t forget to look around the salon to check that it’s clean and that they are certified to practice. Look for a BABTAC certificate, a leading trade association for beauty therapists who adhere to a strict code of conduct.

We tried it

If you’re in London, we cannot recommend Ministry of Wax highly enough. We went for a half leg wax and were really impressed. If you're looking for small talk, tea and sympathy with your leg wax, then you might want to look elsewhere, but if you want a quick, efficient, and flawless finish, then this is the place to go. The whole process was as painless and as straightforward as possible.
