We're all on the edge of our seats ahead of the TV BAFTA's this weekend which are set to be more glamorous than ever with the A-lister's pulling out all the stops for the red carpet. We went behind the scenes to bring you some top tips from official make-up sponsors, M.A.C.
As we all know the basis of a glam red carpet look is often associated with smouldering eyes, flawless skin and the perfect pout. Thankfully M.A.C senior artist, Neil Young, has created just this and it won't look too over-the-top coupled with statement hair and a show-stopping dress.
First off, skin was prepped using M.A.C's Microfine Refinisher before applying a thin layer of reflective foundation such as M.A.C's Face and Body foundation. Next, dot concealer down the central panel of the face and under the eyes before setting the look with loose or pressed powder.
To achieve smouldering eyes sweep on M.A.C's Kohl Pencil in Smoulder for dark eyes or Teddy for paler eyes around the upper and lower lash lines and blend away the edges until the hard edges are softened. Dust over Black Tied eyeshadow for dark eyes and Mulch eyeshadow for paler eyes and blend well - the colour should graduate to nothing to achieve the smouldering look. Finally, add lashings of mascara to create plenty of drama.
Follow with a dust of bronzer around the temples and tops of the cheekbones to add a soft sunkissed feel to the complexion and finish with a touch of blush to the apples of the cheeks.
A few easy steps to celebrity glamour - thanks MAC!
