Every fortnight, we'll put your favourite beauty goodies to the test. This time, body scrubs are put in the spotlight...

Lynsey Hopper, a 30 year old part-time secretary, is keen to get her skin in tip top condition for summer. A fan of pamper treatments, she enjoys locking the bathroom door and indulging herself with some real 'me-time' as a well deserved break from her hectic life juggling work and parenthood! We challenged her to try five of the best body scrubs on the market...

Clarins Smoothing Body ScrubClarins Smoothing Body Scrub
£22

I'm a bit of a fan of Clarins. I use their Cleanser, Toner and Moisturiser, so I was looking forward to trying out another of the skincare range. Although the packaging looked good, I did struggle to get any of this scrub out of the tube! Once I did it was deliciously creamy and felt really nice when applied, and my skin felt quite soft and supple afterwards.

Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Sea Salt Body ScrubCrabtree & Evelyn La Source Sea Salt Body Scrub
£20

I loved the packaging of this product, the jar looked lovely on my bathroom shelf! I was also really impressed with the scrub itself, it smells gorgeous – really fresh and invigorating – and left my skin feeling soft and smelling great. It was a bit messy to use, as you have to mix the product yourself and the salt was pretty solid! But otherwise, a fab exfoliator I would definitely use again.

L'Oréal Body Expertise ExfotonicL'Oréal Body Expertise Exfotonic
£7.99

This scrub is really simple to use – just rub in until it lathers then rinse. It smells light and fresh, and I loved the way it foamed when applied. L'Oreal products feature a lot in my beauty bag and I'll definitely be adding this scrub to my collection! I loved it! My skin felt soft, smooth – like new! Terrific value for money too.

Bliss Sugar Scrub in Sweet Orange and SpearmintBliss Sugar Scrub in Sweet Orange and Spearmint
£28

I was looking forward to trying this scrub, as I've heard good things about Bliss! The scent was so overpowering at first – definitely a product for fans of spearmint – although it wasn't as strong once applied. A little goes a long way with this scrub, it felt like wet sand and took a while for the sugar to dissolve, but once it did my skin felt and looked great. It's just a shame I personally didn't like the scent.

Dermalogica Exfoliating Body ScrubDermalogica Exfoliating Body Scrub
£21.20

This scrub was very easy to use - just rub in then rinse - and effective too. It lathered well, felt lovely and creamy and left my skin nice, soft and healthy looking. The product smells a bit medicinal, which is a shame, but it does the trick!
