Fair trade beauty

Nearly every day we are hit with the words organic, natural, third world sustainability and economic crisis. The media hype is huge right now with every one asking; just what are these large global companies doing to give something back to their suppliers in third world countries? The suppliers, we might add, that produce the products that rake them in millions of pound each year.

But what is fair-trade? Well its all of the above, its about better wages, good working conditions for staff and producers and it aims to protect and enhance the working environment of farmers and those in poorer communities. It's a great way for beauty brands to ensure that the plantations growing their precious ingredients are run fairly, are ethical and most importantly give them a chance put back funds back into the local communities. This way large companies give something back to their suppliers so each worker gets to improve their life and the life of their families.
