With more antioxidants than almost any other fruit, potent minerals, vitamin E and high water content, berries are brilliant at fighting free radicals, pepping up tired skin, and boosting the skin's natural collagen.
So, here are three lovely face mask recipes to try.
Detoxing Berry Face Mask
To reduce puffiness, naturally exfoliate and perk up tired skin.
Step 1. Blend strawberries with water to a pulp, pour the mixture into ice cube trays and then freeze.
Step 2. Cut a square of muslin cloth and place one your berry ice cubes in centre. Pull all four corners together, and tie them with an elastic band.
Step 3. As the strawberry cube begins to melt in the muslin, place one of the flat edges on your skin, and massage the whole of your face for 5 minutes using small circular movements.
Step 4.Leave the residue on your skin for a few minutes, then rinse off with cold water.
Radiance Berry Face Mask
To brighten and energise the skin, while plumping and hydrating.
Step 1. Mash 4 strawberries, half an avocado and a dash of lemon juice in a bowl, then bind to a smooth paste.
Step 2.Apply the mixture to your face (ideally with a mask brush but fingers will work too), working it into the skin, avoiding your eye area.
Step 3.Leave for up to 20 minutes then rinse off with cool water.
Anti-ageing Berry Face Mask
To soothe and rejuvenate the skin, while smoothing fine lines.
Step 1. Mash a handful of blueberries with olive oil, lime juice, oats and a pinch of turmeric, until it forms a paste.
Step 2. Brush the mixture onto your skin and then relax for 20 minutes, before rinsing with cool water.
