When it comes to getting my hair cut, I'm no salon snob. I'm not loyal to hairdressers, I'll convince myself an overly priced cut is totally reasonable before a big night out and I'll happily wait in line at Supercuts to relieve my eyes from fringe overgrowth.
So when I was invited to meet Christopher Appleton, session stylist and general hairdressing wizard, I jumped at the chance.
A Fashion Week regular, Christopher has worked with the impressive likes of Chanel, Vivienne Westwood, Fendi, Issa and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as fashion shoots for Vogue Germany and Vanity Fair.
There are basically zero trust problems when it comes to having this man cut your hair.
Christopher is now one of a select few pros to set up shop in central London's exclusive The Studio venue. At first glance, this single chair studio is more like a hip East London art space, with walls covered in genuine Banksy artworks, and unlike any other salon experience I've ever encountered.
Tackling my tricky, shoulder-length locks, Christopher gave me a sharp new fringe and proved that even I can have a killer topknot.
This bespoke experience is available for £75 for updos and blow-dries to £150 for a cut and finish. Custom-made colourings are also priced on application.
Whether you're looking for the perfect me-treat or a rather lavish pampering day, you're sure to feel like an ultra-glam A-lister after this.
Christopher will be at The Studio at least once a month from Sept 26th. Book now at Christopherappleton.co.uk.
