At New York Fashion Week, summer's annual sun-kissed makeup trend took on a seventies twist with Farrah Fawcett, Lauren Hutton and Marisa Berenson all acting as muse for makeup artists wielding bronzer.

So what does that mean for your face? Cheekbone definition, 'where the sun hits' mantras and a glamorous golden glow.

Best demonstrated by models at the Donna Karan New York show, here's what makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury used to nail the look.

Step 1: Blend MAC Face and Body Foundation over hydrated skin to warm, even and tone skin. Follow with concealer only where needed, to get a flawless base.

Step 2: Blend the MAC Extra Dimension Blush with the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder Foundation (Charlotte used Medium Dark and Deep shades), and wash the colour over your entire cheek using a big dusting brush.
