If you've been keeping your eye on hair and beauty at fashion week in New York, London and Milan you'll have noticed just how much straight minimal hair is just about everywhere.
Well, this is one style that you can easily adopt before Autumn/Winter 2014 - it certainly made an appearance at the Spring/Summer shows.
This look at Calvin Klein shows just how straight hair has changed since we first became acquainted with straightening irons.
1. Styling tools
This look is not about getting dead straight, flat hair.
So, you can blow dry it straight, but if it's edging towards bouffant, step away.
If you want or need to use straighteners take bits in sections, but don't try and get every strand of hair - you're not aiming for sleek.
2. Texture products
This bit is important - you want healthy but not too shiny.
The trick to this is texture products; mattified, roughed up day at the beach hair.
Try something like Bumble and Bumble Salt Spray, or L'Oreal Matte and Messy Salt Spray.
You can still play around with the parting.
The middle is still having a good revival, but that's not to say if you have a personal vendetta against the central look you'll look out of touch.
The side parting is still very much on the scene and with the straight look you can mix it up.
The finishing touches involve a lot of fingers.
Run your hands through your hairs and rough up the ends.
Do you look neat, perfect or sleek? You've done it wrong.
