Kate Middleton's post-birth pictures, if she and Prince William take any, are hardly likely to remain as private as they'll probably hope. The Duchess can't even sunbathe without paps zooming in on her nipples.
So if she decided to opt for a Delivery Day makeover, as they're now being called, I can totally understand why.
Though most women can choose whether they share their post-labour photographs with the world on Facebook ASAP, or keep a low profile before they're ready to emerge all rested and recuperated, it's hardly likely to be the same for Kate.
Remember when she was hospitalised after severe morning sickness? Photographers camped outside the hospital for days to get a snap of her tired little face. So the chances of her making it off the maternity ward and into her carriage without a single pap getting his snap are slim.
If your post-birth face was to be shown around the world, do you think you'd get a facial? Your eyebrows done? A little spray tan perhaps?
As much as I'd love to say that I'm not that vain, and that the bask of new-mum glow would be enough for me, I really can't.
Would I go as far as some pregnant women and get my hair set, bikini line waxed and a full set of gel nails applied? Probably not. But no matter how royal the baby, if my exhausted post-birth face was to be broadcast around the world, I'd want a little touch-up.
Reckon Kate Middleton does too? She does have that 'natural blow-dry' to maintain...
