For some women there's nothing better than giving into an indulgent ice cream craving, particularly if your pregnancy is making you a bit hot and bothered!
As always, moderation is the key - remember that ice cream is high in sugar, fat and artificial colours and flavours.
Another thing to bear in mind is that more traditionally made ice creams can contain raw eggs which you should avoid during pregnancy, so always check the ingredients.
A safe and healthy alternative is low fat Greek yoghurt.
Any kind of low fat yoghurt is a great source of calcium, which is vital in a pregnancy diet. Low fat Greek yoghurt in particular has twice the protein of regular yoghurt, making it it even more beneficial to your growing baby.
Try topping your low fat yoghurt with frozen berries for an icy treat. Blackberries, blueberries and raspberries are all packed with nutrients.
