Meeting with friends for glass of wine is a favourite weekend ritual for lots of women, but remember, what you drink, your baby drinks too.
Your baby's liver won't be fully developed until the last month of pregnancy so even a little bit of alcohol can be damaging.
Drinking during pregnancy can cause birth defects like facial deformities, learning difficulties and problems with emotional development. It can stunt your baby's ability to grow, even after it is born, and increases the risk of having a miscarriage or a stillborn baby.
Why not try a non-alcoholic beer instead?
For women who are pregnant non-alcoholic beers are a good alternative to alcoholic drinks.
Alco-free beers are generally rich in potassium, but low in calories and sodium, as well as fat and cholesterol free.
You can buy non-alcoholic beer in supermarkets. Many pubs and restaurants also stock them too - just make sure you check the label.
