You can still indulge in the occasional Starbucks, but during pregnancy you should ideally limit yourself to 200mg of caffeine per day. This is equivalent to two cups of instant coffee.
Too much caffeine during pregnancy can increase your chances of miscarriage and could mean your baby is born with a low birth weight.
Despite the initial caffeine kick, having lots of milky hot drinks will also leave you feeling bloated and sluggish.
Why not try fruit or herbal tea as a hot drink alternative?
There's lots of flavours to choose from and some have other benefits. Chamomile tea can help you relax and sleep better and lemon tea can help your digestive system. Many fruit teas can also be made into refreshing cold drinks too.
