People question ethics of having womb transplant surgery over adoption

Swedish doctors have carried out miraculous womb transplants, giving nine women the chance to get pregnant. However not everyone is convinced of it's merit.

A team of Swedish doctors have made medical history by successfully transplanting wombs into nine women, hoping that they will be able to now have children.

The women, mostly in their 30s, were either born without a uterus or had them removed due to cancer.

Within the next few months, the medical teams will transfer embryos into the uteri, and it's hoped they will be the first women to get pregnant and give birth with a transplanted uterus.

If your mouth wasn't already on the floor, the wombs the women received were donated by relatives.
