Ready meals and microwave dinners have become fast food to rely on in a hurry. However, you only have to look at the nutritional facts on the packaging of your ding dinners to realise that they can be bad for you.

Microwave meals contain unnatural and processed foods and even the healthier ready meals are often packed with preservatives. This means you could be consuming a lot of salt and sugar without even realising.

Rather than buying lots of factory made meals try making and freezing your own at home.

Take some time once a week to cook up batches of healthy meals and freeze in plastic containers. This way you'll have complete control over how much salt, sugar and fat goes into your dinner and you could save yourself some money too.

Next time you're in a rush for a quick evening meal you can simply defrost a portion safe in the knowledge that what you're eating is healthy and nutritious for both you and baby!
