It's time to pay homage to one of Marilyn Monroe's most iconic films Seven Year Itch with a strong whisky drink. We think Marilyn would approve.
Featuring the scene she is arguably most remembered for - the white dress over the subway grate - this film also advocates breakfast whisky drinking. They were simpler times.
Richard Sherman, the main man trying not to cheat on his absent wife, tells his secretary, "I'm perfectly capable of fixing my own breakfast. As a matter of fact, I had a peanut butter sandwich and two whisky sours."
Whisky sour
1½ oz bourbon (or rye, or Irish whiskey)
1½ oz lemon juice, fresh squeezed
½ - ¾ tsp sugar
Orange slice
This is an easy one. Shake all the ingredients over ice. Serve in an old fashioned heavy bottomed glass.
Garnish with the orange and Maraschino cherry.
Drink it with style.
